What is a vCard (VCF file)?
Updated
A vCard is a contact card saved as a file ending in .vcf. Phones, email apps and address books all read it, so a contact moves between them in one tap.
What a vCard holds
A name, phone numbers, email addresses, company, job title, addresses, websites and a photo. It's a small text file, easy to send by email or chat.
How Mibio uses vCards
Your profile has an Add to Contacts button. It saves you as a vCard with your photo, name, phone numbers, emails, company, job title, addresses, links and your profile link. The other person's phone shows the contact, and one more tap saves it. Nobody needs an app.
Open a .vcf file
- iPhone: tap the file in Mail or Messages, then tap Create New Contact.
- Android: tap the file and choose your contacts app.
- Computer: double-click the file. It opens in Contacts on a Mac and in Outlook on Windows.
Put a vCard in a QR code
A QR code can hold a vCard too. Scanning it saves the contact, even without internet. Make one free with the vCard QR code generator, or make a digital business card with the code, a card image and the .vcf file.
