NFC business cards: benefits for small businesses
How an NFC business card helps a small business share its contact details, collect reviews and new contacts, and stay up to date without reprinting.

Many small businesses meet their customers in person: at the counter, at a trade fair, at a client's office or at the door. Each of those moments is a chance to be remembered. A business card has long been a simple way to continue that conversation. An NFC business card does this with a single tap, and the details it shares stay current for as long as you use it.

What an NFC business card is
An NFC business card looks like a regular card, with a small chip inside. NFC stands for near field communication. It is a short-range wireless technology that works when two devices are about four centimeters apart or closer, as the IEEE describes it. This short range is why you hold the card against the phone.
When someone holds their phone near the card, your digital profile opens in their browser, with no app to install. The profile holds your photo, phone numbers, email, address and links, and a single button saves your contact details to their phone. On iPhone XS and every later model, the phone detects the card automatically and shows a notification that opens the page. Apple's developer documentation describes this behavior.
A QR code printed on the card opens the same profile on phones without NFC.

Six benefits for a small business
- Current details. When your phone number, address, prices or opening hours change, you update your profile, and your card opens the new version immediately. A paper card goes out of date the day something changes, and the whole box needs reprinting.
- One reusable card. Businesses print paper cards by the box and hand them out one at a time. A figure published on Adobe's blog in 2016, and widely repeated since, estimates that 88% of business cards are thrown away within a week. An NFC card stays in your wallet, and you can tap it as often as you like.
- Everything in one place. Your profile can hold your website, Instagram, WhatsApp, a menu or price list and your Google reviews. Customers find all of it in one place, whenever they need it.
- More customer reviews. Most customers read online reviews of businesses. In BrightLocal's 2025 survey of US consumers, just 4% said they never do. A Mibio Hub on the counter lets customers tap or scan to leave a Google or Tripadvisor review right after their visit.
- Two-way contact exchange. A single tap shares your profile and invites the other person to share their details in return. Their details appear in your contacts on mibio.bio and in the Mibio app, ready for a follow-up call.
- A professional first impression. We design each custom card for you free of charge, with your logo and colors, in PVC or metal. A well-made card is often the first thing a new client holds from your business.

Where small businesses use them
- At the counter or reception. The Mibio Hub stands on the desk. Customers tap it or scan its QR code to open your website, follow your social pages or leave a review.
- At meetings, fairs and events. Your card shares your profile with a single tap, even when you meet many people in a short time. Your details reach each person's phone with nothing to type and no paper card to keep.
- On visits to clients. A tap at the end of a meeting gives the client your contact details, so the next call comes directly to you.
- For the whole team. Each employee receives a card in your company's design that opens their own profile, so every conversation leads back to the same brand.

Why it suits businesses in Armenia
Most people in Armenia are online. At the end of 2025, 80% of the population used the internet, according to DataReportal. The same report shows that 95.7% of mobile connections in the country were broadband, meaning 3G, 4G or 5G. These figures suggest that most customers can open a digital profile on their own phone.
What it costs
A Mibio Card in Mibio's design costs 14,900 AMD, and a Custom Mibio Card in your own design costs 19,900 AMD. Orders of 10 cards or more receive 10% off, and orders of 20 or more receive 15% off. The digital profile is free. Apple Wallet, Google Wallet and lead capture come with any Mibio product, with no subscription. Free, Mibio product and Pro lists everything each plan includes.
